Need help with ideas on how to spend your summer break?
When asked, South High students responded that they planned to work, hike, party, travel, camp and hang out with friends and family.
Some places students plan to visit are The Old Market in downtown Omaha, the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Pizza Machine, Dave & Busters and Westroads Mall. And what do they recommend to others when looking for something chill and self-focused? Try saving money, relaxing, working out, focusing on one’s mental health, taking walks and having sleepovers.
Also making the list of priorities this summer are practicing one’s driving skills, getting a driver’s license and/or driving permit, getting a state ID and applying for summer jobs.
“Don’t stay in bed rotting all summer like me,” is senior Jasmin Ruiz’s advice.
Summer can also be a time to discover new hobbies, fish, visit arcades, play mini golf, babysit, redecorate your room, hang out at water parks and pools, go on road trips and picnics, meditate, go to fairs, the beach, read, shop or skate.
“Go out while you can, and enjoy the summer,” said junior Jaslene Dominguez.
