Tooter journalists racked up three more wins Friday at the UNO High School Media Conference in Division A schools.
- Senior Jennifer Ayala-Resendiz won third place for her review of Lana Del Rey’s album “Born to Die;”
- Senior Savannah Galas won third place in the news category for her article on LB 140, Nebraska’s new law pertaining to phone use in schools; and
- Jack Wildrick won third place for his sports feature on coach Djuan Johnson.
More than 782 total entries from 22 schools were submitted.
The day-long event also provided students the opportunity to hear from specialists in the field such as Ana Bellinghausen from Hurrdat Sports, Josh Peterson from AM 1620 and Nebraska Public Media’s Maddie Ames. Waverle Monroe was keynote speaker for the event.
