Ivan Cornejo is a famous 20-year-old singer whose specialty is Mexican regional, alternative-indie and rock siérreno. Cornejo was born in Riverside, California. While he was in middle school, he endured a break-up that inspired him to write music. He also learned to play guitar by watching YouTube videos.
Cornejo’s first album was “Alma Vacía” which ended up peaking at number two on the U.S. Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart. His second album was “Dañado” which also landed on the U.S. Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart, but this time it peaked at number one. Cornejo went on to release two singles and then his most recent album, “Mirada.”
At the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2022, he won New Artist of the Year. “Alma Vacía” also had success by winning the Regional Mexican Album of the Year. In 2023, he also won the award for Regional Mexican Album of the Year for “Dañada.”
Cornejo is a great singer, and I recommend his music especially if someone is going through a tough time. I believe his album “Mirada” is his best album because it’s a lot better than his other albums. Although his music is amazing, it is soft and has a lot of emotion which I dislike. I like hearing his music, but when I am in a good mood and I hear his music, it makes me sad which ruins the mood. I would rate this artist a three out of five stars.
