Fashion at school has always been a way for students to express themselves, their personalities, creativity and unique sense of style. From a clean, preppy look to street-style inspired outfits, fashion at South High is more than just a trend; it’s a way for students to reflect their individualism. The following are some fashion do’s and don’ts from South students.
What are some of your fashion do’s?
Senior Ian Wilton Rodriguez: I would say a fashion do would be the sandwich combo where you have one color as your top, a different color for your pants and the same color of your shirt for your shoes. Everyone does it, and it’s easy and effective.
Junior Nataly Hernandez Piñeda: Some of my fashion do’s are semi-baggy jeans that are flared with Doc Martens because your fit looks clean or a whole black outfit along with a black leather jacket is also fire.
Sophomore Julian Cruz: Fashion do’s would definitely be baggy jeans and any type of hoodie or zip up because they are cool and comfy.
Junior Jatziry Sandoval Reyna: Some fashion do’s would be flared jeans because they are comfortable and cute.
Junior Andrea Chacon: I would definitely say baggy jeans with a crop top along with some Jordans are my do’s; matching sets are always cute as well.
Sophomore Valeria Alexandra Alvarez: Some of my do’s in fashion are when people dress classy and cute, or when men style baggy jeans and women style low-rise jeans with other accessories and make it their own style. I always try to feel confident in what I wear and wear whatever I want as long as I think it looks good and then not caring about what other people might say.
What are some of your fashion don’ts?
Wilton: Probably no bright colors like highlighter colors and no different colors on different colors. I remember when I used to wear a black hoodie with a blue jersey and camo pants. It wasn’t good.
Hernandez Piñeda: Definitely don’t wear Uggs with shorts because, why are you wearing winter wear with summer wear?
Cruz: A fashion don’t would be skinny jeans because they are uncomfortable and out of style.
Sandoval Reyna: Neon colors or just extremely bright colors in general because I don’t think they look good.
Chacon: My fashion don’ts are neon bright colors because they are hard to combine. I also think you should really pay attention to colors that look good on your skin tone since some colors may not look as good on a person depending on their skin tone.
Alvarez: Some of my fashion don’ts are to not wear strong colors, and to not care about how you look because I believe that if you look good you feel good with yourself and will be more motivated.
