National School Breakfast Week is a week in March that highlights the importance of school breakfast for students. National School Breakfast Week will take place March 5 through 7.
Joey Russell, South High cafeteria manager, said she is trying to promote the week. “National School Breakfast Week is an event designed to get more students to take advantage of the free breakfast program and to get more kids to eat a healthy breakfast at the start of the day,” she said.
The National School Breakfast Week began back in 1989 and is in its 36th year. It’s a nationwide event that happens annually.
The purpose of the week is to promote breakfast so more students can eat breakfast and learn about its importance.
