Psychology teacher Lauren Rindfleisch has been teaching at South High for three years and enjoys it. “I feel comfortable at South because I do love the students as they and the teachers here are really nice.”
Rindfleisch got into teaching because of her love for children. “I got into teaching because I do love being around kids, and I need a job that’s stimulating for me, so teaching gives me that, but I also minored in psychology in college, so I already had that knowledge and decided to pass it on to students.”
Rindfleisch said her biggest passion is helping her students achieve their goals and see the realities of life; she is also very passionate about politics, social studies and advocating for people outside of work.
“I am also going to school to become a school counselor as I am passionate about helping and inspiring kids go to college, and I’m also here if they ever need someone to talk to,” she added.
When asked what she likes doing outside of work, she said she loves “hanging out with my wife, walking my dogs, going to the mall and going out and finding new local restaurants.” Five years from now, Rindfleisch said she hopes to be working as a school counselor, “but if not, I will still be at the position I have here since I am already comfortable at South”.
