Juniors are looking ahead to their rapidly approaching senior year.
As juniors continue through the fourth quarter of the school year, they are shifting their focus and preparing themselves for their final year of public education. Three South High juniors shared the plans they are making right now.
AJ Southward said he’s trying his best take care of his grades and having a good “game plan” by choosing his classes for next year. Jatziry Sandoval Reyna said she’s been thinking about her classes for next year and how she’s going to manage them, and Andrea Degante Solis said she is just focusing on getting this year’s schoolwork finished.
All three juniors said they aren’t stressing about anything for next year and are calmly looking forward to their final year at South.
In addition to staying serene about the upcoming year, both Solis and Reyna have their own resilience and self-motivation techniques that have helped them throughout their school careers. Southward, on the other hand, said coach Randall Crutcher is the person he can rely on. Southward said Crutcher has helped him in basketball and academics and has kept him on task and away from doing “anything dumb.”
All three students share the same goal after high school: continuing their education by going to college and working hard to fulfill their career goals.
While the class of 2026 is looking forward to the end of high school, freshmen have just started their high school careers and are dealing with challenges. Some advice the juniors wish to share with them is to stay on top of one’s academics and get on the good side of teachers.
Juniors are now turning their attention to their own graduation after working toward it for many years. All three juniors said they can’t wait for the moment they walk across the stage and receive their diplomas.
